Netflix on Nintendo Wii.

Movie lovers and Wii owners can finally rejoice.  Starting this spring, Wii owners with a Netflix account can stream movies and television shows at no additional cost.  Wii owners will need to order a special DVD, similar to PS3 owners that allows them to access the over 20,000 titles from the Netflix catalog.  (So far, only the Xbox 360 features an integrated service, though it requires an Xbox LIVE Gold subscription.)

There have been hints of late that the Wii would join the PS3 and Xbox 360 to allow steaming video from Netflix.  At the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Netflix CEO Reed Hastings had recently stated that the chances Netflix arriving on the Wii was “excellent.”  There are an estimated 26 million Wii owners who can add to the 11 million Netflix subscribers.
