While The Conduit might have suffered under only modest sales despite a fever pitch leading up to its release last summer, it would seem High Voltage Software and SEGA aren’t willing to give up on the property just yet. Today, the developer and publisher announced Conduit 2, a sequel expected to arrive for the Nintendo Wii this fall. Continuing the storyline from the first game, players will span the globe as they try to save the world from an alien invasion, bringing its mix of frantic FPS gameplay and puzzle solving everywhere from the marbled halls of D.C. to the legendary city of Atlantis. Once again, the game will also have a special focus on the multiplayer, offering a variety of both online and offline modes (for up to 12 or four players, respectively). “Conduit 2 is an enormous sequel. Not only does it greatly improve and expand on the original, the online and co-op play modes aim to raise the bar for Wii war games,” said Sean Ratcliffe, Vice President of Marketing, SEGA of America.
"The Conduit was the first of many original IP’s being developed by our studio." said Kerry J. Ganofsky, CEO and founder of High Voltage Software. "That’s why it gives me great pleasure to announce a sequel with a thrilling and exciting online experience.”
“The support for the original has been amazing.” said Eric Nofsinger, HVS Chief Creative Officer. “The fans have always been a major factor in our development process and their continued enthusiasm has helped make Conduit 2 even better.”
Conduit 2 is set to release in Fall 2010 exclusively for Wii with an anticipated “T” rating.
