Investors were obviously impressed.
BBC News is reporting that Nintendo's share price, bolstered by a strong showing of the Nintendo Wii at last week's E3, gained 6.2% in Monday trading. That brings the share price to 19,710 yen at close (after peaking at 19,890), which is the share's highest price since April 2002.
Of course, how Nintendo answers the few huge remaining questions about the system (specifically date, price, and virtual console details for starters) will ultimately determine how investors view the machine's prospects. However, for now at least that view is very positive.
