Gradius

Another Monday means that another round of Virtual Console titles hit the Wii Shop Channel today at 9am PST.  This time, the titles include Gradius for the NES, Soldier Blade for the TG-16, and Dungeon Explorer for the TG-16.

Gradius is the first in one of the shooter genre's most prolific series, with the player piloting the Vic Viper through seven horizontally-scrolling stages while fighting off wave after wave of enemies.  Gradius supports 1 or 2 players, and will retail for 500 Wii Points.

Soldier Blade is another shooter, promising greater strategy with three diffferent attacks and a deeper item system.  It also features "awesome" boss battles, as well as a timed Challenge mode.  Soldier Blade retails for 600 Wii Points, and supports 1 player only.

Finally, Dungeon Explorer is a multiplayer action/RPG where up to 5 different players can play at once.  Fighting through underground dungeons, players can choose to be one of eight different fantasy character types (Thief, Bard, Elf, etc.), each with its own strengths and weaknesses.  Any combination of Wii Remotes and GameCube controllers can be used in the game.  Dungeon Explorer retails for 600 Wii Points.
