Good thing they waited until April 2nd to confirm this one.
Sega finally confirmed today that it will indeed bring NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams exclusively to the Nintendo Wii this fall.
“We plan to deliver a gameplay experience never before seen on the Wii with NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams,” said Scott A. Steinberg, Vice President of Marketing, SEGA of America, Inc. “The game takes full advantage of the unique Wii Remote controller enabling gamers to guide NiGHTS through spectacularly designed dream worlds intertwined with a story about hope and courage.”
Players will of course assume the role of the jester NiGHTS, and fly through Nightopia, a rich and vibrant world where dreams come to life. Using the Wii Remote, players should "experience a heightened sense of gliding, spiraling, and looping" as they traverse seven dream worlds. At the same time, players might fight off the Nightmarens from the dark world of Nightmare by using their acrobatic skills, unique freedom of flight, and other special abilities.
A number of details are still unknown at this time however, such as whether flight will be totally 3D this time out, or on-rails like the Saturn incarnation was.
