A comment by Nintendo president Iwata promises big things for the future.
According to a Bloomberg report, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata said at a news conference in Japan late this week that the company is developing 45 titles for Wii and 79 titles for the Nintendo DS. These titles will reportedly begin surfacing at the end of this summer.
We don't know what to think of this revelation quite honestly. If Nintendo is developing all of these internally, it would seem that 124 titles would stretch the company incredibly thin. It's possible that Iwata was speaking about development across all first and second parties, or that these numbers include many titles that are still in the planning stages.
Either way, it's clear that Nintendo plans to flood both consoles with titles, perhaps hoping to strike while the iron is hot just in case the Wii and DS lose momentum in the near future.
