Ex-cellent...

Following the series' successful episodic run on the PC, Sam & Max has been rumored for a release on Wii for some time now (especially given the system's similar point-n-click interface). It would seem that we now have confirmation of that, courtesy of a German press release by JoWooD (which partners with The Adventure Company here in North America) for Agatha Christie: And Then There Were None on Wii. From the press release (somewhat translated by Google):

JoWooD plans further its successful licenses from the Adventure Games for Nintendo ® Wii ™ to adapt. One of the next projects: As Sam & Max adventure of the year, chosen by the readers of the German computer game magazine "PC Games" (2 2008), Sam & Max will soon also for Nintendo ® Wii ™ to hunt criminals .

Shaky translation aside, it seems pretty obvious that the dynamic duo is heading to Wii. The only question now is whether they'll arrive in one box ala Season 1 on PC, or as an episodic release via WiiWare. Each installment is roughly a little over 200 MB in size on the PC, so the latter is certainly possible if a little unwieldy.
