Alex Kidd here we come! Eventually. Hopefully.
Sega announced on Friday that it will soon be releasing titles for the Sega Master System on the Wii's Virtual Console. Starting in February in Japan, the NES' would-be challenger will be represented first by Fist of the North Star (known simply as "Black Belt" in North America, and apparently coming at a premium of 600 Wii Points) and Fantasy Zone (500 Wii Points). Releases in North America and Europe will soon follow.
Not surprisingly, Sega will also soon be bringing games for both the Game Gear and Japan-only Mark III consoles (both of which are almost identical to the SMS) to the system as well in the near future. If the Game Gear does indeed come to the system, it should be interesting to see how the games are formatted, since they were originally designed for the system's much smaller screen size and resolution and not for a standard TV.
