Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles

Today, at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, Nintendo announced release dates for two of the Wii's most-anticipated titles.

First, WiiWare now has an official launch date of May 12th. While no launch titles or price points (only that they'll be "dynamic") were confirmed, Nintendo did confirm that Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King from Square Enix will be an early title for the platform.  Additionally, the company also mentioned adventure title LostWinds from developer Frontier, and a new episodic series from Sam & Max creators Telltale.  In referring to Telltale's offering as "new" the press release seems to suggest that it won't simply be a port of the Sam & Max series.

Also, Wii Fit will launch on May 19th in North America, and of course comes packed in with the Wii Balance Board that tracks weight and motion.  Players will be able to track their use through the new Wii Fit Channel, which allows players to easily track their BMI and weight loss progress.

“We are excited to participate in the Game Developers Conference this year to share with developers and consumers alike our upcoming unique services and products,” said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “We are hopeful that they will appreciate our offerings of WiiWare, Wii Fit and Super Smash Bros. Brawl, which represent a trio that will continue to attract new players to the world of video games.”
