THQ’s mash-up rhythm game heads to retail.
Combining the rhythm-based gameplay of Guitar Hero and Rock Band (without all the expensive peripherals) with the genre-blending humor of, say, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Battle of the Bands (originally Band Mashups) has players to completing dozens of licensed songs in any one of five different musical styles (rock, hip-hop, country, etc.). While the game might have fallen off a few radars with its name change earlier this year, THQ is no doubt hoping that Battle of the Bands will be the next big musical craze to hit consoles...or, more specifically, the Nintendo Wii, which they today announced the game has shipped for.
