LANGHORNE, Pa., July 7, 2008 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Casual games developer and publisher eGames, Inc. (Pink Sheets:EGAM), announced today the finalization of an agreement with Destineer to publish the hit burger-flipping time management game Burger Island(r) for Wii(tm) and Nintendo DS(tm). Burger Island follows Puzzle City(tm) as eGames' second Nintendo DS title for which eGames has signed a publishing deal, and will be eGames' first title developed for the Wii platform.

"By distributing our own proprietary titles across multiple gaming platforms including the PC, Wii, and DS, we continue to grow our capabilities and transform eGames into a leading casual game developer and publisher," said eGames Vice President of Sales and Marketing Rich Siporin. "The DS and Wii are two dominant and growing platforms and we intend to take advantage of these opportunities now and in the future. We are glad to have the opportunity to partner with Destineer, which supports our goal of creating internal properties and franchising them across platforms that serve today's growing mass consumer market."

"Bringing the top-selling casual games to the Wii and DS is part of Destineer's continuing business strategy," said Paul Rinde, CEO of Destineer. "We are thrilled to be partnering with eGames to bring the fast-paced, addictive gameplay of Burger Island to a brand-new audience."

Burger Island, one of the top casual time management games of 2007, follows the frantic culinary adventures of Patty Melton as she assumes control of a tropical island-based Beach Burger restaurant, grilling burgers, cooking fries, and blending special milkshakes for hungry customers with the help of quick-tempered waiter, Pierre, and the mysterious recipe-selling Tiki Guy.

eGames and Destineer plan to launch the DS version of Burger Island this fall, with the Wii version expected to arrive in late winter. The PC version of Burger Island is available now for download online at www.egames.com and other major casual game portals.
