The latest installment of the once-beloved series ships.
Its origin and reason may be unknown, but, to this day, ninjas and pirates – much like pie and cake – share a rivalry between their respective fans. For the moment, it may seem petty and harmless, but that is the way of all big things: they always start small. And in this battle that threatens to one day engulf us all, the latest salvo has now been fired, as Ubisoft today announced that Tenchu: Shadow Assassins (or Tenchu 4, as it is known in Japan) has shipped for the Nintendo Wii and should be available in stores across North America soon. Coming at the tail end of the 90’s, the Tenchu series has been entertaining PlayStation owners (and, with few exceptions, little else) for a decade now. For its jump to the Nintendo Wii, Shadow Assassins will, as expected, employ motion controls for certain aspects of gameplay, though with the focus remaining on the franchise’s trademark stealth action (like letting players flick a shuriken with the Wii Remote to put out a light source, for example). Shadow Assassins is also in development for the PSP. For more information on Tenchu: Shadow Assassins for the Nintendo Wii, be sure to check out the official press release below:
