One classic game now available for download.
Continuing a string of only minimalistic attention to the service, Nintendo announced that a singular title was added in today’s Virtual Console update. Thankfully, this time around it appears to actually be a decent game, with the release of the SEGA Master System classic Sonic Chaos. Apart from an era when Sonic games were still good, this game also lets players control the flight of Tails, the blue blur’s faithful sidekick, even if it isn’t the first game to feature him. In most other respects, the game is traditional Sonic, with players racing through the levels and collecting rings, and trying to stop the evil-as-ever Dr. Robotnik from creating devastating weapons with the titular Chaos Emeralds. Sonic Chaos can be downloaded for 500 Wii Points. The official description can be found below:
Sonic Chaos™ (SEGA MASTER SYSTEM, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone, 500 Wii Points): Play as Sonic or Tails in Sonic Chaos, which was originally made for the SEGA MASTER SYSTEM. Dr. Eggman (a.k.a. Dr. Robotnik) has stolen the Red Chaos Emerald to create nuclear weapons. This has thrown the remaining Chaos Emeralds off balance, causing them to transport to a parallel universe. As a result, Sonic's home, South Island, is sinking into the ocean. Speed through various levels in your crusade for the six Chaos Emeralds. Perform Strike Dashes and Super-Peel Outs as Sonic, or Spin Dash and Fly as Tails, and restore order in Sonic Chaos.
