THQ’s atypical action game finally releases in North America.

One of the game's epic battles.

Now on the very precipice of what will define it as either a truly innovative product or merely a failed experiment, THQ today announced that Deadly Creatures has shipped for the Nintendo Wii and should be available in stores across North America soon.  First unveiled in proper early last year, Deadly Creatures features a somewhat intriguing (if not entirely new) premise that puts players in control of a tarantula and a scorpion, using the motion-sensing Wii Remote and Nunchuk to fight against the various threats, including lizards and other spiders, they’ll encounter in the expansive desert.  Though the game initially missed its target release date (also last year), it managed to stay in the news thanks to some big announcements along the way, such as the enlistment of Denis Hopper and Billy Bob Thornton as voices for the two treasure-hunting humans that are the main antagonists.  For more information on Deadly Creatures, be sure to check out the official press release below:
